A Nordic Meeting on Barrett’s Esophagus and Early Esophageal Neoplasia

The NEENA Meeting is dedicated to advancing the diagnosis and management of Barrett’s esophagus and early esophageal neoplasia. Now in its fourth edition, the meeting brings together experts in endoscopy, surgery, and pathology to discuss the latest advancements in the field.

This year’s program will highlight key aspects of Barrett’s esophagus and early esophageal neoplasia, including early detection, advanced endoscopic treatment, histopathological assessment, and evidence-based clinical decision-making. Through live endoscopy, state-of-the-art lectures, and expert discussions, the meeting will provide practical insights into the latest guidelines, treatment strategies, and diagnostic innovations shaping clinical practice.

We are honored to welcome Professor Rebecca Fitzgerald (United Kingdom) and Professor Raf Bisschops (Belgium) as keynote speakers, alongside leading experts from the Nordic region.

Key Topics:

  • Advanced Endoscopic Treatment with live endoscopy
  • Latest Evidence and Guidelines for early detection, risk stratification and treatment
  • Histopathology and Clinical Decision-Making
  • AI-assisted Diagnostics and Digital pathology

Live Endoscopy, Expert Lectures, and Clinical Discussions

The 4th NEENA Meeting will offer a unique combination of live endoscopy sessions, interactive case discussions, and multidisciplinary panels aimed at strengthening the link between the latest evidence and real-world decision-making. The program will address the practical aspects of risk stratification, treatment selection, histopathological interpretation, and follow-up strategies for patients with early esophageal neoplasia.

Addressing Challenges in Specialized Care

Providing high-quality diagnostics and treatment for early esophageal neoplasia remains a challenge, particularly in the Nordic countries, where geographical distances, low case volumes, and resource limitations can impact access to specialized expertise. The NEENA Meeting serves as a key platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, ensuring that best practices are implemented across different healthcare settings.

Networking and Research Collaboration

The NEENA Meeting fosters an environment for multidisciplinary networking and research partnerships, connecting clinicians and scientists working to improve outcomes in early esophageal neoplasia. The meeting will provide opportunities for collaborative projects, clinical trials, and guideline development.
