Endoskopiopplæring
Gastrointestinale endoskopier har vært utført i Norge de siste førti årene. Det utføres et økende antall endoskopier årlig. I 2004 ble det utført anslagsvis ca. 80.000 gastroskopier og 45.000 koloskopier (Hoff G, NGF-nytt nr. 2, 2004). Andelen terapeutiske prosedyrer er økende.

Endoscopic image studies of the colon and rectum
During colonoscopy, when confronted with a finding in the colon or rectum the endoscopist must rapidly make a presumptive diagnose in order to provide the best treatment to the patient.
